Hornets Aim For Max Title

The Ipswich Hornets will chase their first KFC T20 Max title tonight when they go head to head with the powerful Northen Suburbs Vikings at Allan Border Field.

Ipswich qualified for tonight's Final as the leading team after the regular rounds, after last night's semi-final was washed out just as the Hornets were about to bat and chase the 9-154 scored by Toombul.

Toombul again benefited from solid batting from veteran allrounder Preston White (37 from 26 balls) and captain Lachlan Hearne (31), while the Wood brothers Harry and Jack were impressive with the ball.

Ex-Brisbane Heat player Jack Wood (1-21) and Harry (3-32) were well backed by the rest of the team with all of the Hornets attack taking at least one wicket.

The match will start at 6pm, with live coverage on Kayo Freebies and on Queensland Cricket's Premier Cricket match (https://matchcentre.premier.qld.cricket.com.au/) and YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/@QueenslandCricketvideo/streams)

Both teams are expected to field unchanged line-ups for the match.

The game will follow the free Brisbane Heat Fan Day that gets underway from 4pm at the venue.
