Brittain Park Secures New Synthetic Wicket

This project was a collaboration between Queensland Christian Soccer Association, Souths Junior Cricket Club and Queensland Cricket.

The repositioned synthetic wicket enables QCSA to increase their number of playing fields as well as develop cricket infrastructure at Brittain Park, maximising the use of the site year-round. 

We thank Queensland Christian Soccer Association for engaging with Queensland Cricket to construct the pitch and continue a share use model precinct, which provides more opportunities for both football and cricket lovers.

Please be advised that Round 1 of the 2023/24 Australian Cricket Infrastructure Fund opens on the 1st of November.

Queensland Cricket's indigenous artwork was collaboratively designed by Queensland Fire player and proud Kunja woman Mikayla Hinkley and Brisbane Indigenous artist, Delores McDonald (“Aunty Delly”).

The centre circle represents the Gabba, alongside other water holes which used to be near the ground. 87 black strokes on red earth represent the wickets taken by Aboriginal great, Eddie Gilbert who played 23 games for Queensland.
