The Queensland Fire will welcome English international batter Lauren Winfield-Hill for the resumption of the Women’s National Cricket League this week.
Fire Resume For WNCL
Winfield-Hill (pictured) played with the Perth Scorchers during the recent Weber Women’s Big Bash League while her wife Courtney Winfield-Hill was assistant coach of the WBBL Brisbane Heat.
As Lauren Winfield, she previously played for the WBBL Brisbane Heat and will make her Queensland WNCL debut if chosen in the starting team this week against the ACT Meteors at EPC Solar Park in Canberra.
The experienced top order batter has played five Tests, 55 ODIs and 44 WT20I for England.
The Fire will play tomorrow and Thursday, with matches livestreamed on cricket.com.au.
Queensland leads the WNCL on net run-rate over South Australia, with WA a point behind them.
With captain Jess Jonassen away with the Australian team in India, Georgia Redmayne will lead the squad and Charli Knott will be vice-captain.
