Foundation Supports Blind Bats Tournament

The Queensland Cricket Foundation assisted in funding the recent Blind Bats All Inclusive Tournament.

This tournament was a charity fundraiser held at the Morayfield Devine Court Sports Complex in 2023.

The Foundation contributed $2000 of funding which assisted in covering costs for the event. The event focuses on All-Ability Cricket using the beeping Cricket Ball. The aim was to exhibit a fully inclusive team with a range of abilities playing in a team together. Ian Healy was one of the notable names to feature in the tournament.

Queensland Cricket's indigenous artwork was collaboratively designed by Queensland Fire player and proud Kunja woman Mikayla Hinkley and Brisbane Indigenous artist, Delores McDonald (“Aunty Delly”).

The centre circle represents the Gabba, alongside other water holes which used to be near the ground. 87 black strokes on red earth represent the wickets taken by Aboriginal great, Eddie Gilbert who played 23 games for Queensland.
