Toombul finished last season strong and will be looking to carry that momentum into this year’s KFC T20 Max. Aubrey Stockdale returns to the yard from South Australia, ready to reunite with his old teammates. The batting is strengthened by the mature Chris Sabburg and young Sam Fanning from Western Australia, who recently signed his first full BBL contract with Perth. Lachlan Hearne’s clean striking leads the batting group, classy left-hander Addy Grewal will be looking to launch, and big Sam Wilson will guide the middle order. Bulls player Connor Sully has switched colours this season and will be eager to bowl fast for his new club.
Players to Watch
Tom Balkin is an emerging talent and genuinely one of the fastest players in the competition. Very similar to Bulls quick Callum Vidler, Balkin is slight in size and mighty in speed, regularly exceeding 140kph. A QC Academy player, Balkin will be out to wreak havoc on batters.
Reigning Peter Burge Medalist Preston White will again showcase his outstanding abilities for Toombul. White is damaging with the bat and has a knack for performing, no matter the situation. Beware his wicket-taking ability, it proved a match-winner multiple times last season. His cricket nous in all facets is priceless for his side.
