Cam Vellacott previews the Norths team for the upcoming KFC T20 Max competition.

The KFC T20 Max was the only trophy Norths didn’t win last season, and they will be eager to rectify that grand final result. They unveil a very similar side to last year, with a few classy additions. A Test cricket centurion, NSW batsman Kurtis Patterson comes to Queensland looking to prove his T20 case to Big Bash selectors. Very tall left-arm quick Marcus Bean and batter Scott Palombo will be full of confidence, both selected in the QC Academy. Captain Sam Neale will again be a weapon with the ball alongside Will Prestwidge, Noah McFadyen and returning interstate talents Ejaaz Alavi and Ross Pawson. 

 

Players to Watch 

Josh Brown is not a player to watch, he is THE player to watch. Brown has answered every critic, every sceptic and armchair expert who doubted his ability. He’s performed at every level, and history shows he loves performing in the KFC T20 Max. Is a double century on the cards this season for him? 

Nikhil Chaudhary established himself last season at the next level off the back of his KFC T20 Max performances. He loves the bright lights and embraces the attention. He will be out to show the competition and the world his T20 capabilities, the tournament crucial to his show reel for potential franchises.

The centre circle represents the Gabba, alongside other water holes which used to be near the ground. 87 black strokes on red earth represent the wickets taken by Aboriginal great, Eddie Gilbert who played 23 games for Queensland.
