Australian Cricket Infrastructure Fund Round One 2024/25 Finalised

Round 1 of the Australian Cricket Infrastructure Fund has been finalised, with a total of $809,827.17 being allocated towards 28 projects across the state through the joint funding agreement between Cricket Australia and Queensland Cricket.

The funding has contributed towards the construction and upgrades of $5,270,796.10 worth of cricket-related infrastructure across Queensland clubs, schools and councils.

Amongst the 28 successful applicants, 21 were from regional Queensland. Including Herbert River Cricket Association (Butler’s Park, Ingham), Charters Towers State High School, Wooroolin Warriors Cricket Club (Lyle Vider Oval, Kingaroy) and Townsville Western Suburbs Cricket Club Incorporated (Cutheringa Park, West End).

Queensland Cricket’s strategic priorities were met in this round through ‘lighting up’ multiple cricket fields and training facilities across Queensland, as funding was allocated towards two Field of Play and three Outdoor Practice Facility Floodlighting projects. Included within these successful applicants were Noosa Shire Council (Cooroy Sportsground, Cooroy), Queensland Sub Districts Cricket Association Inc (Gibson Park, Stafford) and Mackay Cricket Association Inc (Harrup Park, Mackay).

Progress towards the Women and Girls Action Plan for Australian Cricket has also been made in this round through the allocated funding towards the successful Play Our Way applicant, Warehouse Cricket Association, for the construction of a new inclusive changeroom and amenities at Marchant Park.

With Round 2 of the ACIF set to open end of February, Queensland Cricket and Cricket Australia endeavour to continue the positive impact the ACIF has on the cricket community.
