As Round 2 of the Australian Cricket Infrastructure Fund reaches its halfway mark, communities across Queensland can reap the benefits of improved cricket facilities and infrastructure. This initiative, aimed at enhancing grassroots cricket, is making significant strides in ensuring that players of all ages and abilities have access to high-quality, inclusive, and sustainable venues.
Round 2 of the Australian Cricket Infrastructure Fund 24-25 Reaches the Midway Point
One standout project completed in previous rounds is the replacement of the concrete pitch at Bucasia State School. The school worked collaboratively with Northern Suburbs Cricket Club in Mackay to address the needs of local cricketers and foster greater participation in the game. By investing in upgraded cricket infrastructure, this initiative is not only improving playing conditions but also strengthening local cricket communities for years to come.
The Australian Cricket Infrastructure Fund focuses on key priorities, including increasing access for women and girls, enhancing playing surfaces, and ensuring that facilities are fit for purpose in a rapidly evolving sporting landscape. By upgrading cricket infrastructure, facility owners can provide safer and more welcoming environments, encouraging greater involvement at all levels of the game.
With the second half of the round still ahead, there is still plenty of time to get in touch with the Infrastructure team at Queensland Cricket to enquire about upgrading your venue.
