Queensland Cricket Academy

Purpose

The purpose of the Academy is to develop Queensland Bulls, Queensland Fire and Brisbane Heat ready players more quickly and more often. The Academy is another channel to support Premier Cricket, Country Cricket and Queensland Youth Programs develop elite players.

Intent

The Queensland Cricket Academy is a training and development program and does not guarantee or imply future selection or opportunities. It is intended to complement players' club cricket programs, so players are expected to balance their cricket commitments during the season.

Selection Criteria

  • Potential to succeed in Elite Cricket;
  • Identified skill gaps in Elite Teams – future proofing our professional squads;
  • Previous performance; and
  • Character, coachability and willingness to commit to the Academy program.

Playing Opportunities

Identified players and Academy squad members will play games as a squad. The intent is to create opportunities for performing Premier Cricket players alongside contracted Queensland players engaging in extra playing opportunities outside that program.
