T20 Max Back On Kayo

This month’s KFC T20 Max competition will usher in another bumper summer of Queensland Premier Cricket on KAYO and streaming.

Queensland Cricket with Fox Sports Australia and Sportradar to broadcast a select number of KFC Queensland Premier Cricket matches to Kayo Freebies in season 2023-24.

For the past two seasons, Kayo Freebies has broadcast a range of KFC Queensland Premier Cricket matches through a technology partnership with Sportradar, including the inaugural KFC T20 Max competition last season.

Through this season’s partnership, twelve KFC T20 Max matches and two KFC Queensland Premier Cricket matches will be available to stream live and free via Kayo Freebies.

Viewers must register for a Kayo account, but no payment is required to access 'Freebies' content – with full match replays from all 14 matches to be available.

Jarod Pickering, Head of Cricket for Sportradar, welcomed the renewal of the partnership for a further 12 months.

“We’re delighted to partner with Queensland Cricket again to facilitate the broadcast of their competitions, and especially for the T20 Max competition that had such a successful launch in its inaugural season last year.

The visibility of these performances is so important to grow the fanbase of the game both here in Australia and overseas, to deepen engagement with existing fans but also to support the elite pathway for cricketers in this country,” he said.

Queensland Cricket Head of Premier Cricket, Integrity & Projects, Nick Stuart, thanked Fox Sports Australia and Sportsradar for their ongoing support of Queensland Premier Cricket.

“This agreement means that fans can enjoy the best Premier Cricket whether they are at the ground or at home,’’ he said.

“It aligns with our aspiration for the KFC T20 Max competition to be the highest quality and profile T20 competition in Australia outside of the Big Bash Leagues, with significant investment into the competition and club promotion,’’ he said.

Foxtel Group Executive Director – Commercial, Sport, Rebecca McCloy, said Kayo Sports continues to be the home of cricket in Australia.

“Cricket fans have everything they need on Kayo Sports including the best Australian domestic and international Test, ODI and T20 series, 2023 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, BBL, WBBL, Women’s internationals and more.

“We’re pleased to make KFC T20 Max available to all Australians via our Kayo Freebies platform ahead of an exciting summer or cricket just around the corner,” she said.

The men’s and women’s T20 Max competitions get underway from next Wednesday 23 August, with matches played across Premier Cricket venues including Ian Healy Oval as well as Allan Border Field.

The Women’s Final is on 3 September under lights at Allan Border Field while the men’s Final will be held on Saturday 9 September, also at Allan Border Field, with the match following the Brisbane Heat Fan Day.

Last year’s campaign saw the unearthing of three future BBL stars in Josh Brown (Norths), Spencer Johnson (Redlands) and Paddy Dooley (Wests).

While known within the club scene for their match winning abilities, T20 Max provided a national platform in a level above the typical in-season T20 campaigns to impress, which the trio did in spades.

More than 70 interstate and international players have signed on for the second season of KFC T20 Max.
