FIRE SET TO RESUME

The Queensland Fire will resume their quest for the Women’s National Cricket League when they take on the ACT Meteors in Canberra this week.

The Fire have included recent Australian Under-19 selections Lucy Hamilton and Lilly Bassingthwaighte in their squad as well as batter Lucy Bourke who made the Team of the Tournament at the recent national Under-19 championships in Perth.

Bourke would make her Fire debut if chosen in the starting XI for either tomorrow or Sunday’s games.

After four games, Queensland sits in third spot and have the chance to move up the ladder with the one-day competition resuming following the Weber Women’s Big Bash League.

The matches will be streamed live on cricket.com.au

Queensland Cricket's indigenous artwork was collaboratively designed by Queensland Fire player and proud Kunja woman Mikayla Hinkley and Brisbane Indigenous artist, Delores McDonald (“Aunty Delly”).

The centre circle represents the Gabba, alongside other water holes which used to be near the ground. 87 black strokes on red earth represent the wickets taken by Aboriginal great, Eddie Gilbert who played 23 games for Queensland.
