A host of Queensland Bulls players will gain valuable game time ahead of the resumption of the Sheffield Shield competition next month after being named in the CA XI to take on the touring English Lions in two games in Brisbane from next week.
Maroons Into CA XI
The CA XI squad includes Queensland batters Jack Clayton, Lachie Hearne and Hugo Burdon as well as pace bowlers Tom Whitney (pictured) and Jem Ryan.
The 16-player CA XI squad will take on England Lions in a four-day match at Ian Healy Oval from Tuesday followed by and another red-ball clash at Allan Border Field.
Live scores for the first tour match will be available on cricket.com.au and the Cricket Australia Live app.
The Lions will also take on Australia A in a first-class fixture in Sydney from January 29.
