Voll Back For Key Fire Games

New Australian star Georgia Voll will return to the Queensland Fire line-up for this weekend's key round of WNCL fixtues against Victoria in Melbourne with a spot in the Final up for grabs.

The Queensland Fire has named a 14-player squad for this week’s final regular season games of the Women’s National Cricket League season against Victoria in Melbourne from tomorrow.

Georgia Voll returns to the Queensland team after playing in Australia’s successful retention of the Ashes in January and being named Domestic Player of the Year at this week’s Australian Cricket Awards.

The squad features the inclusion of seam bowler Bonnie Berry for the first time this summer with the Australian Under 19 representative recovering from a back stress fracture.

Current Australian Under19 representative Lily Bassingthwaighte comes back into the squad after being in Malaysia for the U19 World Cup.

Regular captain Jess Jonassen is unavailable for the remainder of the WNCL due to WPL commitments, with Georgia Redmayne to skipper the team.

Grace Harris has not been included in the squad to face Victoria due to the back injury and will join Jonassen in India shortly.

The Fire sit top of the WNCL ladder after back-to-back wins over South Australia last weekend, though have two games in hand over the third-placed South Australians.
